All-Time Industry Blockbuster, ‘Magadheera’ starring Ram Charan Teja has been released in Blu-Ray format along with DVDs and CDs. This is the first time that a Telugu film has been launched in Blu Ray format in Indian markets along with the international markets. Geetha Arts has joined hands with Balaji Video, the largest home video company, to release ‘Magadheera’ in Blu-Ray format. The pack will have a bonus disc with additional material like the making of the film. The Blu-Ray and DVD launch ceremony was held on February 28th, 2010 in Hyderabad. S.S.Rajamouli, Allu Aravind, Ram Charan Teja and M.M.Keeravani graced the event. Speaking at the event, Geetha Arts chief, Allu Aravind said, ‘It costs around 10 lacs to produce Blu Ray disc and Balaji Videos is not hesitating about costs and doing it for the first time in Telugu. It’s the time of technology revolution. Geeta Arts has always been the frontrunner in implementing new technologies. We started the computerized accounting first, we made the first DTS movie in Telugu and we introduced first Telugu movie based mobile game. There are also special features in this DVD like the making of Magadheera.’ The DVD of Magadheera was released in the market on the same day, while the Blu-Ray format was released on March 15th. Blu-Ray disc is the latest storage format which redefines home-viewing besides giving an experience on par with cinemas in picture quality and sound.
